Our therapists are doctoral students in the Marriage & Family Therapy PhD Program.   All hold masters degrees in either marriage and family therapy or a related field, such as psychology or social work. They are closely supervised by clinical faculty trained specifically for this work.   They abide by the Ethical Code of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and uphold the highest standards of professional conduct.

Erika Grafsky, PhD, Assistant Professor.2011 graduate of The Ohio State MFT PhD program.  Pre-Clinical Fellow, AAMFT.  Several chapters on sexual minority youth and many refereed publications in front line MFT and healthcare journals such as Journal of GLBT Family Studies, Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy, Journal of Marital and Family Therapy, and Children and Youth Services Review, along with presentations at major conferences, and a $54,000 National Institute on Drug Abuse dissertation grant.

Former Board Member, AAMFT. Former Chair, Commission on Accreditation for Marriage & Family Therapy Education. AAMFT Training Award and Outstanding Contribution to Marriage and Family Therapy Award; AFTA Lifetime Achievement Award. College awards for teaching, mentoring, and administration. Over 185 refereed articles and book chapters, five books, and four million dollars in contracts and grants.
