Post Masters Certificate in Marriage & Family Therapy
The Post Masters Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy is a non-degree program aimed at the mental health professional who wishes to pursue classroom studies in marriage and family therapy, but who cannot or does not wish to pursue a PhD.   The certificate program requires 24 semester credit hours of work past the master's degree comprised of the 8 doctoral clinical pedagogy courses.   No research or human development courses are required.   No clinical supervision, practicum or internship experiences are available in this curriculum.    Post Masters students are expected to arrange for such experiences at other sites on their own.   It is assumed, however, that post masters students will generally be engaged in clinical practice of some form.   The application process is the same as regular doctoral MFT applications but GRE scores are not required.   Students may enroll full or part-time, and are expected to complete the program within six (6) years.   Non-degree students are not eligible for assistantships or tuition scholarships.
