AAMFT Plenary Highlights '05 Grad Davis' Common Factors Research
The October 2005 American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy plenary on common factors in marriage and family therapy highlighted the dissertation research of '05 graduate Sean Davis, currently a post doctoral fellow at the University of Kentucky.  Davis' study of common factors was a central focus of the address by former Journal of Marital & Family Therapy editor Doug Sprenkle at the AAMFT annual conference in Kansas City.  Davis' research, Sprenkle noted, showed how similar concepts of therapist behavior united such disparate models as Susan Johnson's Emotion Focused Therapy, and Richard Schwartz's Internal Family Systems Therapy.  Davis' dissertation is available online; a tape of Sprenkle's address will be available on the AAMFT website.
